Activities

HAS organises a very diverse annual program of exhibitions held in the Hornsby Art Gallery. Apart from exhibitions that showcase the works of specific artists or groups, regular exhibitions at the gallery include the annual HAS Members Exhibition and the HAS Volunteers Exhibition. The Volunteers Exhibition rewards those members who have volunteered their time to the running of the gallery, organising member activities and opening events and/or contributed to committee and subcommittee activities. In 2009, HAS partnered with Hornsby Shire Council and added two new events to the annual calendar. These are the reuse, recycle "Returned to Glory Art Exhibition" with Council's Waste Management Division, in June, and the new $5,000 Hornsby Art Prize (HAP),sponsored by Hornsby Council. The HAP is a feature of the Hornsby Shire Festival of The Arts. For information about the 2010 "Returned to Glory" competition, please click here.

These events provide excellent opportunities for artists from all disciplines to showcase their works to the community, and the world.
