Exhibitor Portfolios - Land Marks 2011
Local artist and surface designer, Linda Baranov, is having her first solo exhibition Linda is a member of
the Hornsby Art Society and ATASDA (Australian Textile Arts & Surface Design Association). She has a Cert IV in Design,
a Diploma of Visual Arts and a Diploma of Surface Design from the International School of Colour and Design at North Sydney.
In this current collection of works on paper and canvas, the distinction between fine art and design vanishes.
Linda combines re-used and recycled materials with paint, inks and pastels to create new and unusual surface treatments.
Her inspirations are the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, SW Victoria, and Ruby Gap near Alice Springs in the NT.
The informal daily artist talks, examining visual diaries and the techniques used, are proving popular with visitors to
the exhibition.
