Artist's Biography, April 2010

Linda Baranov is a surface designer and visual artist. A successful educator for 30 years, in 2008 she became a full-time artist and has been an active volunteer in her local creative community in the roles of gallery director of Hornsby Art Gallery (2008), and president of Hornsby Art Society in 2009 & 2010.
Linda's paintings and designs are unique, using a variety of mediums, layering of colour and texture to express her connection with the Australian landscape and seasonal changes. Strongly influenced by the Impressionists, Linda continues to explore ways of capturing light and atmospheric effects on the canvas, and in her photography.

A recent artist residency in Portland, Victoria, was the source of inspiration for Linda's current works.
