Artist Statement
Born in Czech Republic, I completed a College of Economics in Prague before embarking on a trip of no return. I travelled through many countries,
lived in England & Germany prior to settling in Australia.
Although I was fortunate to receive a good and varied education in my life - as an artist, I classify myself as self-taught.
The only "tuition" I receive is a 3 day Combined Art Societies workshop at the Merroo Centre once a year. In addition,
I learn from on-line tutorials incorporating styles of artists with varied genre. A cyber space art community has been extremely
beneficial in receiving some invaluable instant feedback and providing new challenges.
My passion and a great hobby is painting landscapes in watercolours. The day of retirement from a full time position is nearing and
I hope the hobby will become a full time obsession.
I love the Australian countryside, the bush, the wide planes - it is a country of great variety and extremes and I am trying to
capture that essence in my paintings, the paintings are the reflections of my feelings and love of nature.
